Somehow this blog has turned into a place where I just put updates about trips, holidays, birthdays, etc. I did not intend for it to become just that, and that's not all I want it to be. But at this phase of my life I am learning to let go of some things. It's either that or feel a constant sense of disappointment.
We just got back from a spring break trip to San Diego. Levi, Ben and I sat down to look through our pictures on the computer, and I decided to let Levi choose the pictures for the blog and write a little summary of our trip. He took this job very seriously and spoke very S L O W L Y as he allowed me to type his words. Hilarious. So here is "Our Trip to San Diego" by Levi...
--------------------------------------------------
We went to San Diego. Dad had a lot of stuff to carry. On the first day we went to Sea World. Ben smiled with the penguin.
At Sea World we saw a beluga whale. They went on their back and on their tummy. They were eating fish.
The polar bear was sleeping, but one was awake. The walrus had sharp teeth.
We went in a cave. It was a polar bear one. It had footprints and it had a roar sound. I was scared the first time but the second time I wasn’t scared. It was spooky.
We saw penguins. They had water and one almost went in the water. There were birds too. Mommy took a picture of me when I held my nose because it was smelly. The sharks were scary. Some were baby ones and some were big ones. I don't know why we don't have a picture of the sharks because they were cool.
We went to this place where seals were doing a trick. There was a huge one and there were medium ones. It was
funny. Mommy took a picture of Ben. It looks like the dolphin is eating Ben’s ear. He wasn’t.
The Elmo playground had a huge bouncy thing. It was very bouncy. Me and Ben liked playing in there. There wasn't even a very long line.
We saw Shamu. There were so many seats. The killer whales splashed people and they got really wet. They jumped up on their backs and even did a flip backwards. The people in charge gave them fish, like 15 fish at a time. They had black and grey and white on them. I liked Shamu. We went to see him 2 times. At Sea World we got to buy a stuffed animal. I bought a Shamu one. Ben bought a dolpin and Graham got a penguin. We like them a lot.
The next day we went to Legoland. We had fun at Legoland.
They had big lego things. There was a Bob the Builder, a Thomas one and a Darth Vader one.
We went on a Dragon Roller Coaster. The first time Dad and me went and then when we were done Dad and Ben went. Mom was with Graham.
We went on lots of rides. We went on an airplane, helicopter and spinning thing. Me and Dad went on a big red roller coaster too. Dad put his hands up so I did too and it hurt really bad.
We played in a big playground that had lots of purple balls and they had guns to shoot. They did not have real guns, just play guns.
We went on boats and I was driving. Graham was driving his boat with Mommy. We saw a guy in a bathtub. That was really funny.
We went in a Lego store where you can build guys and buy them. We bought Toy Story Legos.
Ben went down a pole at the playground. Mom was proud of him.
There was a shark made out of Legos. Me and Ben climbed in there.
Graham got to ride on some rides too. Graham was happy.
We had fun at Legoland. It was my second favorite thing because I liked Sea World the most. We went home and Graham was sleeping in the car. Mommy carried him into our hotel and then he was asleep on the floor. I think he was tired.
The next day we went to the San Diego zoo.
We got on a bus and they told us about the animals.
We saw zebras, lions, elephants, gorillas, jaguars, cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, panda bears, and chimps and orangutans.
We went on a gondola. It was fun.
We went to Children’s World at the zoo. It had a big green slide and the playground wasn’t big. Ben got hurt. He fell off the bridge. Ben punched me and I got hurt. Then I had a band-aid.
And then we went to eat dinner and we went to bed.
The next day we went to the park. It was fun. We went on a big carousel and a train. The train had stuffed animals…a gorilla, elephant, giraffe and jaguar. Ben and I rode by the elephant.
Then we drove to a beach and saw Seals. There were a lot of them. There was 20, I think. They were taking a nap. Some of them were awake. We played at the beach for a long time and then climbed up some big rocks. I was a little scared.
Then we went to play at a park. I took some pictures. We went down some slides and poles. We played with some girls. One was 6 ½ and one was 4. We got to get some ice cream when we were done. We went swimming at the hotel when we got back.
The next day we went to Quarter Island (Coronado Island). We crossed over a big bridge. We saw a big hotel and mom took pictures of us. We played in the sand for the rest of the day. The water was cold. Then Dad had a good idea. We told mom it was like a hot tub. We said it was a little bit cold but a lot of it is hot. Then Mom went in the water and screamed.
Then we went to Sea World again and rode on Abby’s Flying Teacups. Then we saw Shamu again when it was dark.
Then we went to sleep. We packed our stuff and went to the airport and went home. I didn’t want to leave.
I’m done. Can I play now?

There you have it...Levi's version of our San Diego vacation. I don't have anything to add other than the fact that it was absolutely perfect and I know of no better travel buddies than my hubby and 3 little boys.
